The i3+ does not have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we test. It could be stuck on power cords or socks, and may have trouble navigating between different surfaces like carpet and hardwood.
iRobot suggests that you clear areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, including getting rid of any toys or clutter it may come across. It is also recommended to keep the dustbin and filters clear to avoid getting blocked. If the i3+ EVO's internal bin is full or its battery is depleted it goes back to its docking station and automatically emptying its dirt into the station's external dustbin and then resumes cleaning the area where it left off. We were also impressed by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning routines and to move around the room and sweep a specific space. Connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward through the iRobot Home app. After connecting, we were able to communicate with the i7+ using voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and monitoring performance.

This tiny Dyson model is an athletic car in a world of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It is powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in a majority of homes, but it is also compact enough to fit on a bookcase or coffee table.

It could pick up most types of debris and sizes during our testing and often went over the same area multiple times to ensure an efficient clean.
